My next topic I would like to talk
about is my collection for sneakers which became addictive over the
years. I might not be on the same level as other sneakerheads, but I do
have about 40 pairs. This is the term that we are described as in the
community. My collection first started when I became a senior in High
School and then the addiction progressed I was buying a new pair of
sneakers every week literally. I had to throw out the boxes prior coming
home and hide the sneakers in my bag, reason was that my parents
flipped out whenever they saw a new pair of shoes. I didn't buy ordinary
sneakers I bought sneakers that were actually more exclusive and cost a
lot of money. My favorite pair that I bought are called "what the
dunks" there by Nike and are skateboarding shoes. Alot of my favorite
sneakers are Nike sb I like them because they have very unique designs,
very comfortable and just look great. I'm not one of those type of
people who would stand in line and wait for the sneakers to drop never
did that I always ended up overpaying for a lot of my sneakers but its
ok because there all worth it. Another reason I do love my sneakers is
because I break necks with them. This is another term that is used
within the sneaker world. When you have a hot pair of sneakers on and
people just look at them as you walk by and as you turn around and
people are still looking at them that is called neck breaking! I have
sneakers that were released in the 90's but I'm not able to wear them
due to there age and I'm afraid they'll just collapse on me. I already
experienced this a few times I wasn't far from my house but not close
either. My old age sneakers collapsed in public places like school, bus
and the park. I had to go home immediately. I did have them fixed by
going to shoe repair spots around my house. I will keep all my sneakers
and just for the fact that I bought every pair with my own money and I
usually buy what I like/keep. Waiting for sneaker releases is actually a
very good business I know I had some friends who would actually do this
from time to time. I would say I spent about $4500 just on sneakers
alone. My clothing collection is a different story. As I got older I cut
down on collecting just because I have to focus more on school and I
dont have a great job that pays me much but I do enjoy working there. I
forever will keep collecting things that capture my eye and it is my
personal collection which I dearly appreciate!!
